Lowes ruled out of testing after 'nothing' flat-track crash

Kawasaki’s Alex Lowes has been ruled out of today’s WorldSBK test at Jerez after injuring his shoulder in a flat-track crash.

The Derby-based rider was training but slid off and landed on his shoulder in a similar fashion to brother Sam but says it is nothing like as serious.

“I’m fine. It was a nothing crash just fell awkwardly on my shoulder,” Lowes told bikesportnews.com from his training HQ in Spain.

“It’s looking a month’s recovery until I am fully fit again and I have already started rehab. I feel like I could ride now if I had to.”

Team-mate and reigning world champion Jonathan Rea will go it alone at the Andalucian track today and Lowes should be back in action in early March at Portimao.
