Crocked Voltcom Suzuki World Superbike star Alex Lowes will spent the opening laps of testing at Jerez evaluating his fitness after breaking bones in his leg and foot in a big free practice crash at Phillip Island.
The youngster, who only discovered the injuries after he took part in both races, has been training hard to keep up his strength but it won’t be until he gets some miles under him that he will know in what shape he is in.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on the Suzuki GSX-R1000 after such a long break, and building on what we achieved as a team before the crash in Australia. I have been training hard to maintain my strength and aid the rehabilitation on my left foot,” said Lowes, who will also assess a new swingarm from FTR.
“We have a lot of things to test, but my main agenda is to assess my own fitness and once I’m happy with that we can get into the full schedule. It feels like a long time since I last rode so I really can’t wait to get back on my bike.”
