Lucas Mahias will return to the WorldSSP Championship full-time next season after sealing a deal with leading French outfit GMT94 for 2024.
The Frenchman has been a WorldSSP regular since making his debut in the middleweight class in 2014, going on to win the overall title in 2017 with the factory-nominated GRT Yamaha team.
After a switch Kawasaki in 2019 led to stints with the manufacturer in the WorldSBK class too, Mahias will return to both WorldSSP and Yamaha machinery next season, hooking up with the same team he has previously raced with in French Supersport and the Endurance World Championship.
“I am extremely happy to join GMT94 for 2024. It’s a team that I know well having raced with them several times in endurance and scored some points which helped to clinch the title in 2016. I also won with them in the French Supersport Championship.
“I want to thank Christophe and all his partners for believing in my potential as much as I believe in them. We have all the cards in hand to have a great season.”
