Xerox Ducati's Noriyuki Haga has taken the World Superbike race two win at Magny-Cours and grabs the championship lead back from American Ben Spies, who could only finish in fourth.
It means the Japanese rider is now 10 points in front of the Sterilgarda Yamaha man but Haga and Biaggi, who who was second, seemed to think the race was a lap longer as both did one more lap at full pace after the race had ended.
Ten Kate Honda's Jonathan Rea took another well-deserved podium in third and had been challenging for the win until four laps from the end when his pace dropped off, most probably due to tyre wear. He was far enough ahead of Spies to retain third as the American was seen to shake his head several times in the closing laps.
Stiggy Honda's Leon Haslam had another lonely ride to take fifth, matching his race-one performance, while Shane Byrne had to give best to Alstare Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama after a race-long dice for sixth.
It was more disappointment for newly-crowned British Superbike Champion Leon Camier as his Aprilia RSV4 again failed to make it to the end of the race, while Tom Sykes, who broke his finger in a crash during race one, crashed out again in the second leg.
Haga's team-mate Michel Fabrizio crashed in the early part of the race but managed to re-mount to finish in 13th, but his championship aspirations are now over.
