Stiggy Honda's Leon Haslam reckons that recent turbulence within his team has now settled down and they have found the consistency they need for good results at the Magny-Cours World Superbike round this weekend.
All kinds of rumours have been flying around the paddock, including that team boss Johan Stigefelt has signed two bikes over to series bosses InFront in lieu of payment for various bills, but Haslam says there is now a real sense of team spirit.
“We’ve certainly found some consistency in recent races and it’s all credit to Stiggy and the team that we’ve been able to get those results. The team has had a turbulent time of late but there was a really genuine team spirit in Imola last weekend and I’m sure that will carry us through the final two rounds," said Haslam.
"I missed out on challenging for the front row by just 0.05s in Imola last Saturday so we’re very close to being there on a regular basis now and I just need to ensure I get the clean, fast laps when I need to on the two qualifying tyres we’re allowed.
"Magny Cours provides a technical test for us in terms of set-up but I’m pretty confident that with the team I have behind me that we can again find the race setting and be near the front in Sunday’s two races.”
