Alitalia Aprilia's Max Biaggi has been ruled out of action for this weekend's World Superbike penultimate round at Magny-Cours with the broken foot he suffered at the Nurburgring which resolutely refuses to heal in time.
The reigning WSB champion was hit by an errant rock which fractured a metatarsal during free practice at the German circuit. He has once again sought the advice of Dr Costa who, as in Imola, has said he is in no condition to race.
“I would have liked to have been at Magny Cours, just as I wanted to race at Imola. The fact that I was at the track on Thursday to try any possible solution confirms that, even if, unfortunately, I had to give in to the medical evidence," said Biaggi.
"And the same thing happened for Magny Cours, a round which is just too close to hope for recovery. Unfortunately this injury requires a recovery time which does not reconcile with my desires. Now I'll do my best to go through the recovery process and to end this season at the Portimao round."
