Parkingo Yamaha's Chaz Davies only needs a points finish to wrap up the World Supersport Championship at Magny-Cours' World Superbike round this weekend as he fends off the attentions of team-mate Luca Scassa.
Davies' R6 threw a rod on lap 15 last weekend and the Welshman was forced to retire from the lead and the chance to take the title. He has a 35-point lead over Scassa so even if the Italian wins, Davies needs only 11 points to take the title.
"I expected to be leaving Imola on a high note and certainly not like this. Thankfully I worked hard all year and still have a 35 point advantage, so I'll be going to Magny-Cours more determined than ever to win," said Davies.
