Michael Ruben Rinaldi 'working on having other options' in case Ducati opt for Nicolo Bulega

Gold and Goose

Michael Ruben Rinaldi has admitted that he his in talks with other World Superbike manufacturers and teams in case Ducati do not renew his contract for the 2024 season.

There have been rumours throughout this season that Michael Ruben Rinaldi will be replaced at Aruba.it Racing - Ducati next season, and the Italian have confirmed in a recent interview that he is preparing for the worst case scenario.

Rinaldi has not been able to match his team-mate, Alvaro Bautista, over the last two seasons and with young Italian riders such as Axel Bassani and Nicolo Bulega knocking on the door of factory Ducati it looks like Rinaldi could be out of the door at the end of the season.

In a recent interview with SPEEDWEEK Rinaldi confirmed that he is in discussion with other teams and manufacturers but is unsure if he will remain with factory Ducati next season.

"Ducati is in no rush to sign a rider, they haven't told me yes or no to this day, but we're working on having other options, too. In case Ducati opts for this or that solution." Michael Ruben Rinaldi told Speedweek.com.

"Last year the decision was made in September. If they had decided against me, it would have been too late because there was no other place available.

"Now I'm looking for a solution in advance. Of course I want to stay part of this family. But I have inner peace and try to ride my bike as best I can. I want to ride for a team where I'm welcome. If Ducati wants me, they will let me know. And if not, that's okay too. Then we'll see what other options we have."
