Michael van der Mark was able to participate in both days of the Jerez World Superbike Test for the BMW Test Team.
At the end of the 2025 World Superbike season, Michael van der Mark's time as a full-time rider in the series came to an end, and he began a new chapter as a Test Rider.
The Dutch rider will continue working with BMW after completing five years as a full-time rider for their factory World Superbike Team.
During the Jerez World Superbike Test, van der Mark participated in both days and had his first experience with the Test Team.
"It was nice to be back out again, and it is always nice to ride here in Jerez," van der Mark told WorldSBK.com after the Jerez Test.
"It was good to work with the Test Team and the different people there, and I really enjoyed it, we had a good two days of testing."
Across his two days of testing, van der Mark was able to try new ideas that the German manufacturer was not prepared to trial during the racing season.
"We were testing a lot of different setups," he explained.
"Things that everyone has been thinking about doing during the season, but you don't really want to try during the racing season. Many different setups, electronics, and we always try to keep improving and see what we can do better.
"Of course, we already have a couple of new guys working in the team, so it was good for everyone to learn from eachother."
As well as his role as a Test Rider, van der Mark is hoping to continue full-time racing with BMW somewhere in the world.
"It has not been decided yet, but I am staying with BMW," he stated.
"They have been very good to me over the last couple of years, and even now. So, I enjoy working for them, and as long as I can help, I will ride anywhere."
