Misano WorldSBK test: Redding desperate for laps on unchanged bike

Factory Ducati WorldSBK man Scott Redding is desperate for laps on an unchanged bike at Misano today after testing a raft of parts on day one.

The former MotoGP rider wants to spend time 'on himself' at the Italian track in order to learn more about how the bike is behaving.

"I just want to ride for myself because we always change a lot of things on the bike to understand because for the development we need to do it as soon as possible," said Redding, speaking at the track.

"But there needs to be a time that I can ride the same bike at least three runs in a row, you know, always is, change, change, change, which is okay to find performance but I feel sometimes I could bring more to the table by understanding the bike and understanding different things with the Superbike to go faster.

"So tomorrow is mainly for me, and we have a couple of things to test to try and improve. And but I want to work for myself tomorrow."

Redding tested a new caliper for Brembo yesterday and also did some work with Pirelli to confirm ideas that began last season.

"Today was a little shakedown to understand a few things and also for myself to get a good feeling with the bike and yeah I'm pretty happy.

"We had some parts to test from Brembo, some callipers for helping with the temperature but we're not in 35 degrees to feel the difference so the performance was the same which is always good. We just need to see how they are acting in hotter condition."
