Britain's Tommy Hill has split from his Althea Honda team and won't be racing at Misano this weekend – instead the young Londoner will be in his brother Jimmy's pit crew at the Snetterton British Superbike round.
Hill has had a frustrating season with the Italian WSB crew and was not allowed to race at the Miller round despite the fact he was passed race fit after a practice crash saw him injure his foot.
"We have decided to part company and I won't be going to Misano this weekend," said Hill, speaking to bikesportnews.com this lunchtime. "There was a lot of politics involved and we just couldn't get it all together.
"I don't really want to be making up the grid in 20th place. I am out there to win and I was giving it 100 per cent off the track as well as on it.
"Now I will keep going to the gym and have my phone with me at all times. I am not going to jump straight into another team unless it's one that can be competitive. I have to think of my career now and where I am going to go, whether it is in World Superbikes, BSB or World Supersport.
"A lot of the riders I came up with are now in top teams so I have to stop and think where I am going and get my career back on track, and be in a position to show the world what I can do, not be making up the numbers."
The team's World Supersport rider Matthieu Lagrive has been drafted in to replace Hill and Flavio Gentile will be on the CBR600.
