Sterilgarda Ducati's Shane Byrne says his morale is shattered by a dismal World Superbike performance in Italy where he only managed one-point scoring finish at the high-speed Monza track after qualifying well.
The reigning British Superbike Champion was 14th and 18th in the two legs yesterday in a weekend the team say they want to forget. Byrne's final qualifying session in Superpole two was dogged by an electrical problem.
"My morale is shattered. I did know that it would be hard to score a good result on this track, but I was expecting a better performance on my part. Now I just have to forget everything and try to improve with help from the crew starting next week," said Byrne.
