MONZA WSB: NEUKIRCHNER BREAKS LEG; ROBERTS BRUISED

Alstare Brux Suzuki's Max Neukirchner suffered a broken femur and dislocated right foot in the crash that necessitated a reg-flag on the opening lap of today's first World Superbike race at Monza. Kawasaki's Makoto Tamada suffered a broken wrist. They were the only riders seriously injured in the accident.
Guandalini Ducati's Brendan Roberts was taken to hospital for precautionary X-rays but was found to be heavily bruised and battered, according to a close friend of the Australian. BMW's Troy Corser, who was involved in a separate incident but at the same time at the same corner, did not start the second race.
