In an interesting move, Italian food giant Sterilgarda have signed up to be title sponsors of the works Yamaha World Superbike team and will now have three bikes on the grid as they already fund Shane Byrne's Ducati outfit.

One company sponsoring more than one team is not unheard of in motorcycle racing. Repsol have their fingers in many pies in the three MotoGP classes and it doesn't automatically mean the end of the deal for them.

Byrne has been underperforming this season but having won an Italian Superbike Championship round here at Monza this weekend, he ought to be right on the pace come tomorrow afternoon.
