PARKALGAR HONDA’S Craig Jones and Miguel Praia travel to Assen and the fourth round of the World Supersport Championship with more horsepower released from the engines of their CBR600 race bikes to boost their chances of success.
Since the last round at Valencia at the start of April the team has been busy at its Louth headquarters working on developing the CBR motor and unleashing more of its potential. A noticeable gain in horsepower, along with a mid-range boost has been the result on the bench and that is expected to give both riders more on-track performance than ever before.
Jones finished third in the last race and is sitting in fifth place in the Championship. Assen is one of his favourite circuits and he is hoping for support from UK travelling fans.
Parkalgar Honda’s Miguel Praia scored a single point last time out by finishing 15th and is targeting an improvement at the 4.55km Dutch circuit. The top 10 is the Portuguese star’s clear target.
Parkalgar Honda Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said: “The Parkalgar Honda team has been very busy behind the scenes finding more useable horsepower. The result has been encouraging and we will arrive at Assen with the most powerful bikes the riders have ever had and that is good for performance, morale and confidence.
“Craig has scored two podiums out of three starts and now he is visiting a track he really likes for the first time this season. He has been training hard recently and is more focussed than ever on winning races and the Championship. We have high hopes he can bring home more silverware from Assen."
