BMW WorldSBK team boss Shaun Muir is looking for clarification on the testing regulations now that the season has been moved back a further month due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Yesterday, series chiefs were forced to postpone the Jerez round from March 29 to the middle of October and no-one will be surprised if both Assen and Imola suffer the same fate.

“I think everything is going to be moved back to later in the year. The big thing for us is can we go testing and if so, where can we test,” said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“We need to find out what circuits are available and what staff I can take as I have a couple of Italians in my team.

“We do have a required amount of days, we have used some of them up but I don’t know when the other official days are this year. It’s a moving target at the moment.”

The team had a promising start to the season is Australia with Tom Sykes taking pole position but then the weekend began to unravel a little/

“Phillip Island was a little disappointing. We weren’t too far away with race pace - qualifying was good - Tom had an electrical issue which cut the bike out and Eugene launched himself over Lukey Heights on what would have been a something close to lap record pace.

“It was a shame that as he is really finding his feet now. We knew we were in good shape there, as we would have been in Qatar. The gap in straightline speed isn’t apparent as it was but it is still a deficit that we are working on.”
