Nicolo Bulega took a 'special' victory at his home round

Gold & Goose

Nicolo Bulega took his fifth win of the 2025 World Superbike Championship at the Cremona Circuit.

The opening race of the weekend at the Cremona Circuit was dominated by Nicolo Bulega. The home hero was able to make the most of his pole position and convert it into his fifth win of the year.

In the early stages of the race, Bulega was challenged by Toprak Razgatlioglu, but he was able to dispose of the reigning Champion and control the race from the front.

This was Bulega's fifth win of the 2025 season, and he knew he had to throw everything at it to beat Razgatlioglu and BMW.

"A win at home is incredible," Bulega told TNT Sports after the opening race of the Italian WorldSBK Round.

"Not at home, but still in Italy, so I am really, really happy. It was a great battle at the beginning with Toprak [Razgatlioglu]. He never gives up, so congratulations also to him for the great race.

"Today I had something more when I overtook him, and I understood that if I pushed really hard it may be hard for him to follow me. So, I tried to put everything on the table and it worked, so I am really happy and I hope to enjoy this moment and to continue like this."

At the last round of the World Superbike Championship, Bulega lost out on two potential race wins at the TT Circuit Assen.

The Championship leaders Ducati Panigale V4 R broke down in the Superpole Race and Race Two on Sunday.

He has now forgotten about the two unfortunate DNF's after winning at Cremona.

"Maybe I forgot about Assen after this chequered flag," Bulega stated.

"During the race, especially the last five laps, I was thinking that after missing those victories in Assen, a victory here in Italy would be more special.

"I am really happy for this win, I needed it, and now I want to continue."
