GoldBet BMW’s Chaz Davies must have experienced déjà-vu during the World Superbike races at the Nurburgring today, because in a repeat performance of last years result's the Welshman came away with third and first place podium finishes.
The rider is delighted with his performances and obviously feels very comfortable on his team's home circuit, and secured the first win at the German track for the BMW outfit. Both races were red flagged due to crashes and oil spillages, and Davies admitted that he was in the right place at the right time.
“I came away today with a third and first place finishes, the same as last year. We improved the bike for race two, and I knew that I had to break away and put my head down,” said Davies, speaking at the circuit.
“But in the end the red flag came out and I happened to be in the right place at the right time. The ball bounced in my favour and it is good to come away with a double podium today. Also I wish all the riders that were injured today a speedy recovery.”
