PAUL BIRD KAWASAKI AIMING FOR POINTS AT QATAR

Paul Bird's factory-supported Kawasaki World Superbike team are looking to get a couple of solid points finishes at this weekend's Qatar second round after a disappointing time at Phillip Island.

Both Broc Parkes and Makoto Tamada know they are still a long way behind the competition in terms of development and the pair also suffered from bad chatter problems at the Australian circuit.

"I want to put Phillip Island behind me and look forward to some progressive improvements for the Qatar Race. We will need to try a few things and we need to make some big changes to the bikes so we can find a good direction and hopefully get within the points which has been my objective since the start of the season," said Parkes.

"The Phillip Island race has highlighted to me that we've still got a lot of work to do but as a team we will work hard and hopefully start to see some improvements in Qatar."
