Sterilgarda Ducati's Shane Byrne reckons he is confident and ready for tomorrow's opening pair of World Superbike races at Phillip Island despite only qualifying in 15th place.
The reigning British Superbike Champion fell victim to the new, three-tier Superpole system and was eliminated in the second round, along with former team-mate Tom Sykes.
"I'm ready for tomorrow's two races and I'm confident I can do well. I have a great feeling with the track and hopefully will have a good start," said Byrne.
"I'll have a lot of time to make a recovery and score a positive result. It's a real pity and I am sure I could've improved my time in the Superpole with at least half a second and I would've fought for the first eight spots."
