Phillip Island WSBK test: Crocked Kennedy hoping to race

CIA Honda’s Jack Kennedy says he hasn’t given up hope of taking part in this weekend’s Phillip Island World Supersport opener despite having surgery on a broken ankle earlier today.

The young Irishman cracked the right talus bone - a small bone that sits between the heel bone and the two bones of the lower leg (tibia and fibula) - in a crash at the end of Monday’s second session but he hasn’t ruled out racing in Australia.

“I had a big crash yesterday but we have acted quickly and I’ve already had an operation on my ankle. I really want to race this weekend so I am not ruling it out, I am going to rest and do my best to see if I can get on track on Friday or Saturday. My CIA Insurance Honda is good and we could still score good points even injured,” said Kennedy.
