Phillip Island WSBK test: Kennedy suffers broken ankle

CIA Honda’s Jack Kennedy has been taken to hospital for an operation on a broken ankle sustained in a crash during yesterday’s second World Supersport test session at Phillip Island.

The young Irishman has fractured the talus bone and will go under the knife today in Australia. He looks certain to be ruled out of the first round this weekend after setting the fourth-fastest time on the sheet.

“I was P4 in testing yesterday until I had a big crash, in hospital now, going for operation later for a fractured Tallus bone (ankle,” he Tweeted.
