PTR Honda's Sam Lowes reckons he lost his chance for a last, fast lap during the final hours of World Supersport testing at Phillip Island after a crash on the increasingly-bumpy track meant he had to spend extra time in the garage.
He ended the two-day affair with overall fourth quickest time but is confident his race pace will be enough to compete with quickest man Broc Parkes on the Ten Kate Honda.
"To be fair I crashed at the end and lost my chance at a fast lap. I made a small mistake, hit bumps and lost the front but thankfully I am unhurt. My ideal lap time is second so I am not too worried. Our race pace looks really strong and we have bits and a direction to keep improving," said the 2010 British Supersport Champion.
"I had a good run in the last session and I am really happy. The PTR team's working fantastic with everyone getting on good; as a team we feel a lot stronger than last year. We have more work to do over the weekend but right now I am looking forward to a couple of days off and chilling."
