DMC Kawasaki's Kev Coghlan had a World Supersport weekend to forget at Portugal's Portimao circuit, pushing too hard in the race and chucking his ZX-6R up the road at just before half distance.
The young Scotsman had heaped blame on himself for not qualifying well on Saturday, ending up in 23rd place and saying: "We Ttried a few things with setup in the morning but couldn't really find anything I was happy with.
"In the afternoon we got the bike working more or less OK but I just couldn't improve on yesterday's time. No one else to blame, I just wasn't riding well enough."
In the race, Coghlan made up a lot of places in the opening skirmishes, fighting his way into the points from his lowly grid slot but made a similar error to that of Aragon and Phillip Island.
"I anaged to work my way through to 14th or 15th from 23rd before chucking it up the road. Same mistake as Phillip Island and Aragon, just lost the front from pushing too hard.
"Bit of a weekend to forget, looking forward to Imola now as its a track I really enjoyed riding last year on the Panigale. Got a couple of weeks now do get some good training in and reset my head."
