Despite its financial woes, the Portimao round of World Superbikes will go ahead as scheduled.

WSBK bosses have been working closely with the track's promoters to ensure the round remains healthy but whether it will stay on the calendar for next year is the subject of uncertainty.

"Infront Motor Sports wishes to express its appreciation for the efforts made by the management of the Portimao circuit to respect its commitments and ensure that the event will go ahead as originally scheduled, in spite of the current difficult situation," said a WSBK spokesman.
