WorldSBK race direction has this evening handed out a total of 38 slow-riding warnings over all classes, including one each to Chaz Davies, Alex Lowes, Xavi Fores and Stefan Bradl, among others in the blue riband class.
Officials are trying to clamp down on riders dawdling through sectors and creating unnecessary dangers, and also riders hanging around waiting for a tow. Similar penalties are currently making qualifying in Moto3 something of a lottery with only two riders at Misano holding on to their original grid slot on Sunday.
With a handful of other riders being given penalties for other offences, 14 warnings were given to WorldSSP riders, eight to WorldSSP300 riders, 11 to the premier class and the rest to Superstock 1000.
