Portimao WorldSBK test 'very important' for Haslam

Kawasaki's Leon Haslam believes this weekend's Portimao WorldSBK test is very important to the rest of his season as the reigning British Superbike champ has taken podiums at all the tracks he has tested at this year.

Haslam is in his first year on the works ZX-10RR and is looking likely to keep the seat into 2020, so three more rostrum finishes at the Portugese track next month would be timely for the Derby rider.

“I am looking forward to the Portimao test. Off the back of the Suzuka Eight-Hours win it will be nice to get back on the WorldSBK bike with Pirelli tyres," sad Haslam.

"We tested at Portimao at the start of the season, and it went quite well. This year, being my first season back after a few years away from WorldSBK, all my podiums have come at circuits we have tested at.

"I would like get three more solid podiums at the Portimao round come September, so this Portuguese test is very important.”
