World Superbike bosses have this morning unveiled an outline of a new set of rules for the series which major heavily on a reduction in costs, engine limits and a cap on component costs.
The rules will be applied in three stages starting next season which will see a maximum price set on how much bikes will cost to build, how many engines a rider can use over the course of a season and a system for buying or leasing bikes from manufacturers or teams.
Full details of the new regulations will be published in due course, according to the FIM.
