World Superbike bosses have finally released the provisional 2016 calendar which sees the British round at Donington Park take place over the weekend of May 28-29 while the Lausitzring and Monza make a return to the schedule. And in a new move, it looks likey there will be a race on Saturday and a race on Sunday.
The season begins with its usual spot at Phillip Island, which will be preceeded by a two-day test, and then moves to the Chang circuit in Thailand. Then the European round begin, with a flyaway to Sepang in May and then another to Laguna Seca in July. Jerez and Magny-Cours have swapped places as the penultimate round before it all finishes off at Qatar in October.
Lausitzring will happen on September 18-19 and slots in after Monza, which is still subject to safety homolgation, but that is a massive break in the summer of almost two months as the Italian race is scheduled for July 23-24. Portimao is missing from the schedule and a planned return to Moscow has not materialised as everyone breaths a sigh of relief.
World Supersport will travel to all rounds except Laguna while the FIM Superstock 1000 series remains in Europe.
