"We are very happy with these two days of testing," said Vickers after the Phillip Island Test.

"My first day at Phillip Island was an incredible experience. I had a lot of fun and made great progress. On Tuesday morning we tried out different set-ups and found the best one. We managed to achieve the same time as on Monday and were pretty consistent.

"The rain in the afternoon changed our test plan. The last ten minutes gave us the opportunity to try out what we wanted to focus on.

"All in all we got some good results and were pretty quick, so we're ready for my World Superbike debut."

Last season the Motocorsa Racing team had a difficult World Superbike campaign with Michael Ruben Rinaldi. The Italian lasted one season with the team and finished 17th in the Championship, before being let go of for Vickers.

"We are very happy with our new driver, who has proven to be extremely professional as a rookie," Motocorsa team boss, Lorenzo Mauri, said when asked about Vickers.

"It was also very interesting for us to discover his working methods. The data from the eight days of testing in Jerez, Portimão and Phillip Island are excellent.

"Nevertheless, it will be a long road of learning to give Ryan and the team some good and exciting races, as we are used to."
