After suffering a shoulder injury at Most last season, Sam Lowes is out for redemption this weekend in the Czech Republic.
Sam Lowes has been in good form in recent weeks as he has been inside the top five in four of the last six races in the World Superbike Championship.
After overcoming an illness to fight at the front at the Italian World Superbike Round, Lowes is motivated to continue his recent run of form in the Czech Republic.
"I feel good, I was really happy with Sunday in Cremona, I was feeling not so good, but it was a positive day for us," Lowes told WorldSBK.com ahead of the Czech Republic World Superbike Round.
"I am looking forward to getting back to Most. Last year was a complicated weekend for me. It wasn't a bad weekend for a first time here, but I had a crash and hurt my shoulder, which ruined my year. I have a point to prove for myself against the track this weekend, which is a nice motivator.
"As far as the weekend and the track go, I am really looking forward to riding it, it is a really enjoyable track."
"The first goal will be to continue where we have been in the last few races, in the top four or top five," Lowes continued.
"I need to have good pace, do the job, work hard on the Friday and progress throughout the weekend. The weather could play a part, it does not look bad but it could rain at some points. So, we could have to deal with that, but I do feel I have a point to prove with the track."
Lowes' second season in World Superbikes has so far been more successful than the start of his rookie year. Throughout the entirety of 2024, Lowes scored 53 points, but after four rounds in 2025, he has scored 52 points.
"I think I have 20 odd points now than I did last year, so it is already better than my rookie season," Lowes explained.
"I feel a lot better on the bike, I can nearly ride the bike how I would like to. Riding the Ducati is a massive motivation with knowing how good the bike is. But still we have to be there and do the job, I am happy with it. I would give this year an 8/10 so far, maybe an 8.5 for some weekends, but I am just looking to make that next step.
"If I just look at the Ducati's, Bulega is doing an amazing job, so I need to make a step to get closer to him."
