Lowes suffered a freak accident on the opening lap of Saturday's race after suffering a mechanical issue. Whilst the race was being restarted Lowes was being taken to the Medical Centre.

He was diagnosed with a left collarbone contusion and was assessed before the Sunday morning Warm-Up session. The #14 passed the Sunday morning assessment and took part in the session, and finished in 14th place.

After the session, Lowes was declared unfit when re-assessed due to a functional impairment of his left shoulder. The 34-year-old now has two weeks to recover before the Estoril World Superbike round, which is the penultimate round of the season.
