Scott Redding could get back on a Ducati next year in the World Superbike Championship after Bonovo departs from the paddock.
During Free Practice One at the Portuguese round of the World Superbike Championship, Michael Galinkski told WorldSBK.com crucial details about the team he is setting up for the 2025 season. This team will effectively take the place of the departing Bonovo Action BMW squad, but they will not be with the German manufacturer.
Galinski, who is the Team Manager at Bonovo Action BMW, does not want to end his time in WorldSBK. He will spearhead a newly structured Michael Galinski Motorradsport team for the 2025 season, but it will be with Ducati rather than BMW.
When asked by WorldSBK.com about his new team the only thing Galinski could confirm was the manufacturer:
"At the moment for us, it is only sure that we are saying 100% to Ducati now, that is clear but we will know at the latest at the next race."
When asked about the rider lineup for 2025 Galinski did not name any riders in particular, but stated that the team will know who will be riding for them by Magny-Cours next month:
"We will know at the next race. On the 20th of August, we have a meeting and then we will make a decision, we have four riders that want to ride for us. So, we will make the decision this month."
With Bonovo pulling out for 2025 it means Scott Redding has been left with a BMW contract, but no bike to ride. Galinski was asked if one of his current riders (Redding) would be joining him in his new team. Galinski confirmed that Redding is an option for 2025 by stating that he is "One of the four."
