Shanley joins Puccetti Kawasaki as Mahias crew chief

Former Ten Kate Yamaha crew chief Mick Shanley has joined Puccetti Kawasaki to work with Lucas Mahias in his debut WorldSBK season.

Shanley, who has previously worked with Padgetts and SMR to name but two, replaces Chris Pike who is taking a year out for personal reasons.

"I’d agreed with Ten Kate to continue but unfortunately, due to lack of budget they had to pull out. I contacted a lot of people but by that time everyone is pretty much fixed," said Shanley.

"I had some possible options in but nothing fixed so I was focussed on my business. Chris Pike called me out of the blue as he had decided that he needed to stay at home for the 2021 season and if I was available then he would recommend me to Kawasaki.

"I’m really grateful to him, Steve Gutteridge, Paolo from KRT and Manuel Puccetti for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the Kawasaki ZX-10RR at Misano."
