Pata Honda's Leon Haslam escaped from his monster race two high-side at the Silverstone Wiorld Superbike round with no big injuries but said the airbag system in his Dainese leathers prevented him from break his collarbone.
The gritty Derbyshire rider was pinged off his Fireblade when the heavens opened at the end of the second encounter and itwas feared he had landed on his already-broken leg but Haslam came down on his shoulder.
"The rain had been coming all race. Baz had a moment on the track but got away with, Cluzel crashed and then I was the next one along. I've banged my leg a bit but the airbag system saved my collarbone, I would have broken it without that for definite," said Haslam, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
