Mark Aitchison will return to his old Pedercini Kawasaki World Superbike team at this weekend's Silverstone round to stand in for Alex Lundh, who is injured.
The Australian rider has been without a seat since the Effenbert Ducati team pulled out of the series earlier in the year and he says he is looking forward to riding again.
"Obviously I'm very happy to have the opportunity to ride again for the Pedercini squad. I have a lot of fond memories from the 2011 season with them and I'm sure this weekend will add another story to the chapter. Honestly I really cannot know what to expect from the weekend ahead," said Aitchison.
"I'm not so familiar with the current spec Pedercini Kawasaki Superbike and I have not been on board a bike since the Monza round of the championship, so almost three months at this point.
"In any case, I would like to say thank you to the Pedercini family again for this opportunity and to wish Alex Lundh a speedy recovery form his wrist injuries. I look forward to racing at Silverstone, which is a circuit I really enjoy and working with all the crew."
