BMW Italia's James Toseland met his personal target of seeing the chequered flag in both World Superbikes races at Silverstone yesterday, managing to bag his first points of the year in the process and see the light at the end of the injury tunnel.
It was the first time Toseland has been on any kind of form for a whole weekend since he broke his wrist in a testing crash at Motorland Aragon but he told bikesportnews.com on Thursday he just wanted to finish both races and then he could look forward.
"On Friday morning I had concerns for the weekend due to both physical and psychological stresses. I’m therefore very happy to have been able to complete both races. I had no grip in race one but the bike was fine in the second. Beyond the result, for me it was important to finish both races after five months off track. It has boosted my morale because the fracture was really bad and now I'm coming through it," said the two-time world champion.
