Tom Sykes has been released from Barcelona Hospital on Tuesday, BMW Motorrad has confirmed.

The Brit was expected to remain under observation at the ‘Hospital General de Catalunya’ until Wednesday, after suffering severe concussion from his accident during Sunday’s second WorldSBK race. However, the 36-year-old has been discharged after two nights.

His participation in this weekend’s action at Jerez de la Frontera for the 10th round of the WorldSBK Championship is yet to be established, with a decision expected in the coming days.
