Kawasaki's Tom Sykes upped the pace on day two of the World Superbike test at Motorland Aragon to bag top spot but he was chased hard by Max Biaggi on the works Aprilia who was only two-tenths behind his 2012 title rival.
Sykes was well under the lap record with his 1'57.6, a second quicker than he went yesterday, but due to the low track temperature, he is still some way off his own Superpole outright record of 1'56.552. Biaggi set a 1'57.8 after doing the same number laps.
Yesterday's quickest man Leon Camier went a tenth faster than he did yesterday to bag third spot with Eugene Laverty, on the second of four Aprilias at the test, was fourth and a second quicker. Carlos Checa slipped to sixth and was half a second quicker than his pace yesterday.
