'The new spec was a step forward' - Aegerter happy with 2024 spec Yamaha

After a momentous Jerez World Superbike round for Dominique Aegerter the Swiss rider continued his good form at the Jerez WorldSBK Test.

Dominique Aegerter got his first two WorldSBK podiums at the final round of the season at Jerez as he finished second and third. The two time World Supersport Champion ended up finishing 8th overall in his first WorldSBK season.

Aegerter continued his podium momentum into the post season test as he got to try out the new 2024 spec Yamaha R1.

“We tested many things that Yamaha brought," said Aegerter. "Such as swingarm, engine and front suspension from Ohlins.

"I had a small crash which for sure didn’t help. The lap after I had the Q tyre and in that lap, I made a small mistake so the timesheet doesn’t look so good. We were always in the top five and consistent and have great data to work on.

"With the engine, the power side, when I open the throttle fully, I feel there’s more power. This is what we’re looking for; we need to put it on the ground to make sure we’re not spinning or wheelieing but the new spec was a step forward.”

Aegerter may not have set the time sheets alight like his GYTR GRT Yamaha team-mate, Remy Gardner, but the Swiss rider is heading into the off season on a high.
