After missing Donington Park, Tarran Mackenzie will be back on track at the Balaton Park Circuit with MGM Bonovo.
Tarran Mackenzie will be back on track in World Superbikes this weekend as he has agreed a deal with MGM Bonovo.
The 2021 British Superbike Champion will replace Scott Redding, after he returned to the British Superbike Championship.
Mackenzie parted ways with the Petronas MIE Racing Honda Team ahead of the United Kingdom World Superbike Round and has only missed a weekend of racing.
"I am so excited to be back after only missing one race weekend in the end," Mackenzie told WorldSBK.com.
"I got a phone call from Michael Galinski. The situation had changed with him going forward, and an opportunity had arisen for me.
"It is something that I am really excited about, so of course I said yes, I am really looking forward to it."
In the initial announcement from the team, it was not clear if Mackenzie was riding for one weekend or whether he would compete for the remainder of 2025.
The 29-year-old admitted that he will be on track for the rest of the year with the German team.
"The plan is to carry on for the rest of the season," he clarified.
"This weekend is going to be completely new for me, new bike, new track, new team, new everything. So, I am fully in at the deep end, but I am looking forward to it and it gives us an idea going into the summer break."
After two and a half years on uncompetitive packages, Mackenzie is excited to be on a bike that can deliver top-end results.
"It is something that really excites me to be honest," he admitted.
"No disrespect to anyone, but I have not been on a package or a bike that is capable of top fives. So, it is something that really excites me, and something I have wanted for a long time.
"It was really hard to say no, of course I wanted to come, I was just glad I continued training and carried on as normal."
