John McPhee offered up a timely reminder of his wet weather skills as he secured his second top five finish of the 2023 WorldSSP Championship season at a damp Most.
The Scotsman was one of a handful of riders not to duck into the pit-lane for treaded rubber when the heavens opened during Race 2 in Czechia, the Vince64 by Puccetti rider holding on to cross the line fourth.

Just shy of his best finish of the season when he scored a sensational third place finish in treacherous conditions on his debut at Phillip Island at the start of the year, McPhee was encouraged to show his skills in the ‘great equaliser’ that is wet weather.
“Happy for myself and everyone in the Vince64 team,” he wrote on social media. Tricky conditions are always a great equaliser and I’m happy to show our true potential again.”

McPhee is currently contesting his first season of WorldSSP aboard the Kawasaki ZX-6R after calling time on his Moto3 World Championship career, where he was a four-time race winner.
His run to fourth is his third top ten of the season, lifting him to 16th in the overall standings.
