Valentine won't rule out Suzuki switch to World Superbikes

Samsung Suzuki team boss Jack Valentine has said no decisions have been made about where his team will race next year and didn't rule out a switch from British to World Superbikes but did scotch rumours he had approached Tommy Hill for go back to the team in 2012.

Valentine is waiting to see what happens with Suzuki and their MotoGP plans for next year as their team us run by the same Crescent Racing firm which is the base for the British Superbike effort but he did say he would very much like to continue to work with John Hopkins.

Strong speculation about a move into the world series began after Hopkins' pole position at the Silverstone round earlier this year which intensified after a statement from Alstare Suzuki at the weekend mentioned Suzuki could be talking to Crescent about taking over from long-time collaborator Francis Batta.

"There are a lot of decisions to be made about next year and Suzuki won't do anything I don't think until they have finalised their plans for MotoGP and what that entails for the 2012 season," said Valentine, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.

"It's too early for us to say what we will be doing but we are still very much focused on BSB as it's a great series for us and our sponsors. The Tommy Hill rumour is very much news to me, we haven't spoken to anyone about next year as yet.

"Obviously, I would very much like to continue working with John as what he is doing in BSB considering how badly injured he his finger is is just amazing. From the outside it just looks a bit swollen but I can tell you that it just shows what sort of a rider he is considering the amount of pain he is in."
