Once in a lifetime opportunities don’t come along very often but for one young racer, here it is. Simon Crafar’s Motovudu team have got together up with bikesportnews.com to give a youngster the chance to race as a wildcard at the Silverstone WSBK KTM European Junior Cup round.
The spirit of the competition is to provide an opportunity for one rider to race on a world stage. We are looking for someone who has shown not only talent but a real passion for motorcycle racing. You must be aged between 14-19 on the weekend of the race (2-5 August 2012), not have a full-time ride with a team in national or international competition and not be a past national road racing champion.
Crafar has put the deal together with friends Phil Samuels from www.wipersupply.com, Alex Wood’s Snap Ring Joint Ltd and Basil Bannay from Close Asset Finance Ltd. The winner will be chosen by bikespor-tnews.com and the Motovudu team. Entries close on July 1, 2012.
Motovudu Wild Card ride includes:
The opportunity to compete the practice, qualifying and race at the United Kingdom round of the EJC at the Silverstone WSBK round 2012.
The use of the Motovudu Wildcard team’s motorcycle during the above event (1x European Junior Cup specification KTM 690 DUKE) .
The use of the Motovudu Wildcard team’s tyre warmers, front and rear paddock stands, tools, pit-board and numbers and work station/pit.
Tyres as EJC regulations require.
Fuel for use in the above motorcycle at the above event
Rider entry to the above event
2 x Paddock Passes for the above event
Requirements to enter competition:
United Kingdom passport holder.
14-19 years of age at the time of the race.
Does not have a full time ride in a team competing a National or International championship.
Is not a past National champion at Closed Circuit road race competition
Has never raced in European Junior Cup before

Brief history of racing experience

To qualify you must be in agreement to the following:
The Rider and accompanying helper must abide by and satisfy all the regulations of the European Junior cup
The Rider must be between 14-19 years of age at the time of the race (2-5 August 2012).
The Rider agrees to pay the first Five Hundred Euros damage caused by any crash he/she has while riding the European Junior Cup Motovudu Wildcard Entry Motorcycle.
The Rider must be accompanied by one person (helper) with basic mechanical knowledge (refuelling, tyre warmer fitting, pit board signal and preferably but not essential the ability to fit and remove wheels).
The Rider and helper must arrive at circuit no later than 14:00 hrs on the Thursday prior to the event.
The rider must supply all the necessary appropriate protective equipment for riding: helmet, gloves, boots, leather suit, back protector.
The Rider and helper must be prompt and on time for all EJC practice’s, qualifying and the EJC race at Silverstone Circuit 2-5 August 2012.
