Sven Blusch gave his verdict on BMW's brand new rider line-up for the 2026 World Superbike Championship.
Ahead of the Estoril World Superbike Round, BMW confirmed their 2026 World Superbike rider line-up with Danilo Petrucci and Miguel Oliveira signing for next season.
Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, is 'looking forward' to having the two former MotoGP race winners in his garage next year, but remains focused on Toprak Razgatlioglu's 2025 World Superbike title fight.
"I think it is the perfect place in Portugal to announce a Portuguese rider for us," Blusch told WorldSBK.com on Thursday.
"After we had secured Danilo [Petrucci], we were searching for the second rider, and we are more than happy to get Miguel Oliveira on board. We are in contact already to talk about next season, and I think he is really looking forward to it.
"We are looking forward to having him on site, but first of all, we have to secure the Championship. So, all eyes are at the moment on the next two weekends."
Blusch is confident that BMW's new rider line-up for the 2026 season will be able to challenge for the title and emulate the German manufacturer's recent success with Razgatlioglu.
"It was clear for us when we got the news from Toprak [Razgatlioglu] that he was leaving, that we had to push to our maximum for next year," he explained.
"So, we are going for the Championship this year, and we want to go for it next year as well. I think with this combination of riders, who know each other from MotoGP, we will be able to keep the spirit in the box like we have had with Toprak and Michael [van der Mark]."
