Dominique Aegerter is keeping his options open for the 2026 season after losing his ride with GYTR GRT Yamaha.
It has been all hands on deck for Dominique Aegerter and his team in recent days after Yamaha surprised him by replacing him for 2026.
The Swiss rider will be replaced by World Supersport Championship leader Stefano Manzi in the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team next season.
However, Aegerter was not informed of Yamaha's decision until after he saw the announcement of Manzi's arrival on social media.
The 34-year-old must now find a new ride for the 2026 season. In an ideal world, he would like to remain in the World Superbike Championship.
But he is also open to other options for his future in the World Supersport and MotoE World Championship, as he is aware some Superbike teams will overlook him.
"Sure, it would be nice to stay with Yamaha and bring this bike back to the top," Aegerter told Speedweek.com.
"However, things aren't looking good at the moment because, after [Remy] Gardner, [Stefano] Manzi has now also signed a contract with Yamaha. Then there's no room for me. My dream would, of course, be at Aruba alongside Bulega.
"I'm 34 and haven't achieved any truly top results in the last two years. If the environment is right, I have the right bike, and my physical condition is top, I think I can still fight for the top six.
"My brother and manager have spoken to all the good teams that would be interesting. We also have to see what all the MotoGP and Moto2 riders are doing, and then we'll see if there's a possibility to stay in Superbike. Otherwise, we'll have to look around and see what the next step will be."
There have been rumours suggesting that Aegerter could replace the departing Andrea Iannone in the Team Pata GoEleven squad.
But according to reports, Aegerter would have to bring €800,000 to the team to secure a ride on the Ducati Panigale V4 R.
