What are Dominique Aegerter's options for 2026?

Gold & Goose

After five years with Yamaha in the Superbike paddock, Dominique Aegerter may ride for a new manufacturer in 2026.

Dominique Aegerter has found himself without a ride in World Superbikes for the 2026 season after Stefano Manzi signed with the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.

It is possible that Aegerter will remain with Yamaha for the 2026 season, but not in the Superbike category. Yamaha Racing Director Niccolo Canepa said, "Although our journey together in the Superbike World Championship is coming to an end, we are exploring with his management the possibility of keeping him in the Yamaha family in the future. He won two world championships with Yamaha in the Supersport class before moving up to Superbikes in 2023."

There is the potential that Aegerter could return to the World Supersport Championship with Yamaha, as the top Yamaha Supersport riders of Manzi and Can Oncu look set to leave the Supersport class.

Yamaha could opt to bring Aegerter back to the Supersport series on a Yamaha R9 with the Ten Kate or Evan Bros. Racing Team.

However, there is a chance that Aegerter could remain in World Superbikes if he changes manufacturer for the first time since he moved to the Superbike Championship.

With the news from Team Pata GoEleven Team Manager, Denis Sacchetti, that Andrea Iannone will not re-sign with the Italian team for 2026, Aegerter is an option to get on the Ducati Panigale V4 R.

But the Swiss rider would need to bring money with him for the chance to ride the new Ducati. According to Speedweek.com, Aegerter would have to bring €800,000 to the team to ride for the team.
