Bonovo action BMW’s Eugene Laverty heads to Argentina looking for a strong finish to his WorldSBK career.
Laverty is set to bow out of Superbike race action after the final trio of flyaway races, with Circuito San Juan Villicum the first stop on the long haul schedule following an emotional weekend at Portimao.
Nestled on the edge of the Andes, round ten takes in a breathtaking location, with the four-year-old circuit comprising seven right and ten left-hand corners throughout its 4.3km layout. With points in four of the eight races run at San Juan, and a best result of fifth, Laverty is hoping for more of the same as he winds down his tenth season in the Superbike class.
"My last series of overseas races starts in Argentina this weekend,” Laverty confirmed. “The one kilometre long straight suits the horsepower of our BMW Superbike, but we have to work hard to put the power to the ground to get out of the slow corners decently.
“I felt really good on the bike in the last few races, which should set us up well to finish the season strong.”
