Recent testing provides much needed momentum for BMW’s Scott Redding as WorldSBK arrives to his home round at Donington Park this weekend.
Both electronics and chassis updates were evaluated during the one-day outing at the British circuit a fortnight ago, with the UK-based squad back for the fifth round of competition after a month’s break.
His first time at Donington on the BMW M 1000 RR, last year’s visit proved eventful on the Ducati with Sunday’s fourth place finish marred by a crash in the wet and changeable weather conditions of the opening race action, something that looks far from the forecast this weekend.
“Donington Park – the home race for me which I am really looking forward to,” Redding said of his return to the East Midlands track. “It’s the first time for me in WorldSBK to have fans in the paddock there so it will be a crazy weekend and I look forward to it. I am also looking forward to the second part of the season.
“Donington Park is a cool track for me, it is a lot of history there, the track has a lot of character and hopefully we can show what our hard work has been doing in pushing for some good results.”
