Kawasaki’s Jonathan Rea was left with a six-lap cruise to victory in the second Estoril WorldSBK race after Scott Redding crashed.
The Ducati man again used the Pirelli SCX tyre in the 20-lapper but lost the front with six to go, re-mounting for two points as Rea extended his advantage to 35 over Toprak Razgatlioglu who took third behind Chaz Davies.
An incident-laden second WorldSBK race at Estoril saw Razgatlioglu (Pata Yamaha) jump start and then take two long lap penalties - and still get on the podium for an impressive finish.
Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team) placed fourth, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha) a career-best fifth.
Michael van der Mark (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was sixth, just ahead of the leading Fireblade of Alvaro Bautista (HRC Honda).
Tom Sykes (BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) placed eighth, strong starter Eugene Laverty (RC Squadra Corse BMW) ninth and Tito Rabat (Barni Racing Ducati) tenth.
Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was taken out by a lap two crash under braking from Garrett Gerloff (GRT Yamaha) who is fast getting a repuation for himself
In the championship points Rea has 110 and Razgatlioglu is now second on 75. Redding has 74 points in third place and Lowes is fourth with 62.
Update: Redding been given a six-second penalty for jumping the start which demotes him out of the points.
